Photo Of The Day By Bob Faucher
Today’s Photo Of The Day is “Evening Glow” by Bob Faucher. Location: San Juan County, New Mexico.
“The west-facing wall of Shiprock seems to be somewhat unpopular with photographers,” says Faucher. “I located a vantage point along Navajo Nation Road 5020 that would provide an unobstructed view with good angular light for shadows when the evening sun broke through at the horizon, below the overhead clouds.”
Canon EOS 5D II; Canon EF 70-200mm @ 200mm; Gitzo tripod; RRS BH-55; RAW capture: f/16 @ 1/13 sec, -1 EV, ISO 100; auto exposure; center-weighted-average metering; Auto WB.

Photo of the Day is chosen from various OP galleries, including Assignments, Galleries and the OP Contests. Assignments have weekly winners that are featured on the OP website homepage, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. To get your photos in the running, all you have to do is submit them.
