Today’s Photo of the Day was submitted to the Your Favorite Places Gallery by Douglas Arnet.
“There are so many beautiful places around Mt. Hood in Oregon that it’s easy to overlook some of them. White River Canyon is on the Southeast side of the mountain. In late summer during periods of extended warmth, the White River Glacier has periodically discharged huge amounts of water, mud and rocks which flow down the canyon, sometimes violently reshaping it,” says Arnet who used a Canon T3i with 10-22mm lens and polarizer on a Slik 340dx tripod for this shot.
Photo of the Day is chosen from various OP galleries, including Assignments, Your Favorite Places and the OP Contests. Assignments have weekly winners that are featured on the OP website homepage and several images from the Assignment Gallery are featured in The Best Of Assignments section in print. To get your photos in the running, all you have to do is submit them.
