Road To Rotation by Erik Perozo
Near Broken Bow, Nebraska, Erik Perozo took this dramatic photograph and he submitted it to the Stormscapes Assignment which is open through the 31st of July. When this storm was forming, Perozo saw the potential for the photograph, but he wasn’t in a good position to get the exact shot he wanted. He explains, “This was one of the most spectacular storms I’ve chased. I knew for this shot I wanted the perfect shot but the terrain was flat and lacked depth. As I passed a dirt road it hit me. Get the shot of the road going into the storm to give the viewer a sense of question. Did he drive down under it? Did he stay a safe distance? Where does this road take one? This is the shot I was granted with. Atop a sizable hill this view allowed me to capture Mother Nature in her pristine beauty. Enjoy and imagine being on that dirt road.” Perozo used a Canon EOS 6D with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens and a B+W polarizer.
I select a Photo Of The Day every day. I choose the images from the various OP galleries including Assignments, Your Favorite Places and all of the OP Contests. Also, for each issue of the magazine I go through the Assignments galleries and choose a few to be featured in The Best Of Assignments in print and I select a weekly winner to be featured on the OP home page. To get your photos into the running all you have to do is submit them.
