Photo Of The Day by Frank Ceravalo
Wind Blown by Frank Ceravalo
Frank Ceravalo submitted this photo to the new Cloudy Days Assignment which is open until June 11th. In the rainy, overcast conditions, strong, evocative photos can be made. Here, the soft light and foggy atmosphere gave Ceravalo a perfect opportunity. The colors in the foreground tree and the lower growth are rich and the muted, pastel hues coming out of the background give the image depth. If the fog had been more dense, concealing the background, the photo wouldn’t have the same sense of place. Ceravalo used a Canon EOS 5D Mark II.
I select a Photo Of The Day every day. I choose the images from the various OP galleries including Assignments, Your Favorite Places and all of the OP Contests. Also, for each issue of the magazine I go through the Assignments galleries and choose a few to be featured in The Best Of Assignments in print and I select a weekly winner to be featured on the OP home page. To get your photos into the running all you have to do is submit them.
