Today’s Photo Of The Day is “Rocky Mountain Bull & Cow Elk” by Gene Putney of Putney Nature Images. Location: Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado.
“On an October day, the park received its first significant snowstorm of the season,” says Putney. “In the late afternoon it was very cold and the Rocky Mountain elk were quite active. This bull was the largest one in the area and he was in pursuit of this lone cow. They were in a beautiful setting and posing nicely as they listened to echoing bugles in the distance.”
Photo of the Day is chosen from various OP galleries, including Assignments, Galleries and the OP Contests. Assignments have weekly winners that are featured on the OP website homepage, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. To get your photos in the running, all you have to do is submit them.
