Photo Of The Day By Harry Lichtman
Today’s Photo Of The Day is “Lime Light” by Harry Lichtman. Location: Hoh Rainforest, Olympic National Park, Washington.
“For about 10 minutes on a sunny day, I noticed that this sapling received overhead light through the thick canopy in the Hoh Rainforest in Olympic National Park,” says Lichtman. “The first time I noticed it, I was too late and only part of the tree was illuminated. I imagined how cool it would look, as if under a spotlight while the rest of the trees were in shadow. A very theatrical feel I thought, like a singer on a stage. I check the forecast, and returned when I thought there would be enough sun then waited nature to do the rest.”

Photo of the Day is chosen from various OP galleries, including Assignments, Galleries and the OP Contests. Assignments have weekly winners that are featured on the OP website homepage, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. To get your photos in the running, all you have to do is submit them.
