In today’s Photo of the Day, Jomar Alwes tells us the story of a ‘Juvenile Hunter Having a Bad Day’.
“We were on safari in Amboseli National Park in southern Kenya when our guide noticed a disturbance with a herd of wildebeests and zebras raising a cloud of dust in the distance. As we drove over to take a closer look, we saw this juvenile male lion walking towards the clearly agitated herd. With the prospect of surprise totally gone, he gave us a fleeting look of disgust as the wildebeests and zebras watched nervously. Lions normally hunt at night and sleep during the day, so it was a treat to see a male lion on the prowl,” says Alwes who used a Canon EOS 5D Mark III with Tamron 150-600mm lens for the shot.
