Stained Glass by Joseph Thomas
Fall color can be overwhelming and the task we face as photographers is to distill a scene down to the minimum number of elements to fully convey that scene. To paraphrase Reverend Maclean the film A River Runs Through It, the art of photography is in thrift. Joseph Thomas’ photo, Stained Glass, is a beautiful example of an economical image of an autumn scene. Thomas took the photo in Colorado using a Canon EOS 5D Mark II.
The Fall Color Assignment had more than 450 entries when it ended last night. In the October issue of OP, several of the best submissions will be featured in the Best Of Assignments section in the magazine. Also, I’m keeping this Fall Color Assignment open through the month of October. so as the leaves change in your area, you can continue to send in photos to share with the OP community.
