Today’s Photo of the Day was submitted to the Brooks, Streams & Rivers Assignment by Long Nguyen.
“Spirit Falls is on the Little White Salmon River in the Columbia River Gorge on the Washington side. The hike down to the falls is a scramble down a steep moss-covered talus slope. It was short hike, but the path was not easy going for the casual hiker. I went hiking there in early spring, so everything was so beautiful with the lush green and crazy current rushing down the stream. This shot involves getting wet, and I had to wipe my lens every 30 seconds to get the clean shot. I use a polarizer and ND a stops filters to enhance blue color and power of the fall. This is definitely one of the most impressive waterfalls in the Pacific Northwest,” says Long Nguyen.
Photo of the Day is chosen from various OP galleries, including Assignments, Your Favorite Places and the OP Contests. Assignments have weekly winners that are featured on the OP website homepage and several images from the Assignment Gallery are picked to be featured in The Best Of Assignments section in the print magazine. To get your photos in the running, all you have to do is submit them.
