Today’s Photo of the Day of Badlands National Park was submitted to the Your Favorite Places Gallery by Michael Davis.
“I was visiting the park in August 2014 with my sons and decided to stay and catch the sunset. We were facing West and, by chance I decided to look behind us and saw that the moon had come up in the Eastern sky and that the sunset was catching the clouds to the East. I quickly swung around and captured this shot and am so glad I didn’t just focus on the sunset in the Western sky…be always aware of your surroundings!” says Davis, who used a Nikon D600 with 24-70 f/2.8 lens to get the shot.
Photo of the Day is chosen from various OP galleries, including Assignments, Your Favorite Places and the OP Contests. Assignments have weekly winners that are featured on the OP website homepage and several images from the Assignment Gallery are featured in The Best Of Assignments section in print. To get your photos in the running, all you have to do is submit them.
