Today’s Photo of the Day was submitted to the Your Favorite Places gallery by Michael Rauwolf.
“The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in Northwest Washington attracts thousands of tourists and photographers each year. But the best time to photograph the fields is definitely sunrise and sunset. I got up early and drove to this field one morning in time for sunrise. This particular field was planted against a row of trees, and when the sun was shining through the trees, the combination of golden light streaming through the morning mist, along with the dappled lighting on the fields, made for a very interesting composition that was well worth it. This particular field is no longer accessible to the public, but there are plenty of similar fields for viewing. The current season has almost ended, but every April, the opportunity arises again,” shares Rauwolf.
Photo of the Day is chosen from various OP galleries, including Assignments, Your Favorite Places and the OP Contests. Assignments have weekly winners that are featured on the OP website homepage and several images from the Assignment Gallery are picked to be featured in The Best Of Assignments section in the print magazine. To get your photos in the running, all you have to do is submit them.
