Photo Of The Day By Morteza Safataj
Today’s Photo Of The Day is “Milky Way Over Mt. Sabalan” by Morteza Safataj.
“Spending a couple of nights shooting and exploring Mt. Sabalan’s sidehill under a clear night sky,” said Safataj. “A remote location with minor light pollution that made it ideal for a wide-field astrophotography. I found endless compositions with beautiful meadows, streams and mineral springs in the sidehills. Mt. Sabalan is an inactive stratovolcano in Ardabil Province of Northwestern Iran with 4,811 m (15,784 ft.) elevation.”
Photo of the Day is chosen from various OP galleries, including Assignments, Your Favorite Places and the OP Contests. Assignments have weekly winners that are featured on the OP website homepage and several images from the Assignment Gallery are picked to be featured in The Best Of Assignments section in the print magazine. To get your photos in the running, all you have to do is submit them.
