Photo Of The Day by Pat Sotherlund
Panther Creek Falls by Pat Sotherlund Panther Creek Falls
In the Columbia River Gorge area of Washington, dramatic waterfalls amid verdant settings are many. Pat Sotherlund’s photo of Panther Creek Falls captures the essence of this beautiful area. The light can be challenging in the deep ravines, and Sotherlund used a Nikon D700 with a 17-35mm f/2.8 lens to perfectly frame and expose this scene and make an excellent photograph. The photo was sent to the Green Assignment which is open for submissions through Tuesday night.
I select a Photo Of The Day every day. I choose the images from the various OP galleries including Assignments, Your Favorite Places and all of the OP Contests. Also, for each issue of the magazine I go through the Assignments galleries and choose a few to be featured in The Best Of Assignments in print and I select a weekly winner to be featured on the OP home page. To get your photos into the running all you have to do is submit them.
