Photo Of The Day by Paul Bowman

Paul Bowman made this gorgeous photo of Mt. Rainier in Mt Rainier National Park, Washington after a pre-dawn hike to this vantage spot. Great landscape photography starts with being in the right place at the right time and Bowman clearly achieved that much thanks to his in-the-dark trek. Faced with such incredible light and clouds, Bowman set up a magnificent composition with foreground reflection showing the reeds at the lake’s edge and including the sweeping cloud formations in the sky. The photo was submitted to the National Parks Assignment which is currently open.

I select a Photo Of The Day every day. I choose the images from the various OP galleries including Assignments, Your Favorite Places and all of the OP Contests. Also, for each issue of the magazine I go through the Assignments galleries and choose a few to be featured in The Best Of Assignments in print and I select a weekly winner to be featured on the OP home page. To get your photos into the running all you have to do is submit them.
