Today’s Photo of the Day, featuring larch trees, was submitted to the First Snow Assignment by Randolph Fritz.
“Larches are the only conifer in the northwest whose needles turn gold in the fall and then drop for the winter. They provide a lot of our fall gold in autumn. I found these with a fresh snowfall on them late in October as I was headed into the Wallowa Mountains,” says Fritz.
Photo of the Day is chosen from various OP galleries, including Assignments, Your Favorite Places and the OP Contests. Assignments have weekly winners that are featured on the OP website homepage and several images from the Assignment Gallery are picked to be featured in The Best Of Assignments section in print. To get your photos in the running, all you have to do is submit them.
