Weeping Greens by Raveesh Ahuja
Raveesh Ahuja’s beautiful photo of the waterfalls near Dunsmuir, California was submitted to the Waterfalls Assignment. “This is a hidden paradise.” Ahuja writes, “Why do I say it is hidden ? You have to hike for about 1.25 miles ( one way ) on train tracks ( no signs/markers ) to reach this place. This should not be a problem, but this is not an abandoned train track. Trains do come . During my hike back I encountered one train and had to wait on a tiny shoulder for it to pass-by.” Ahuja used a
Nikon D7000, Nikkor 18-200mm lens, Manfrotto Tripod, Tiffen polarizer and a remote shutter release to capture this long exposure.
I select a Photo Of The Day every day. I choose the images from the various OP galleries including Assignments, Your Favorite Places and all of the OP Contests. Also, for each issue of the magazine I go through the Assignments galleries and choose a few to be featured in The Best Of Assignments in print and I select a weekly winner to be featured on the OP home page. To get your photos into the running all you have to do is submit them.
