Photo Of The Day By Rick Stephens (4/9/2013)
Sky Lake Sunrise by Rick Stephens
Rick Stephens sent today’s photo of the day to the Backlight & Silhouettes Assignment which is open for submissions until tonight at midnight. The photo was taken in the Eagle Cap Wilderness in Oregon. Rick describes how he took the photo, “Sky Lake, at 8300ft,is one of the highest in the Eagle Cap Wilderness. Since it is almost above tree line and there are no significantly large mountains around it, one is afforded a spectacular view of the crystal clear sky. This photo was taken in October just before the area was snowed in for the year.” He used a Canon EOS Rebel XS and an 18-55mm zoom.
I select a Photo Of The Day every day. I choose the images from the various OP galleries including Assignments, Your Favorite Places and all of the OP Contests. Also, for each issue of the magazine I go through the Assignments galleries and choose a few to be featured in The Best Of Assignments in print and I select a weekly winner to be featured on the OP home page. To get your photos into the running all you have to do is submit them.
