Photo of The Day From The OP Galleries

This photograph comes from the Your Favorite Places gallery. Phillips’ describes the shot, “This is an image of spring lupine shot at sunset from Steptoe Butte in the Palouse Region of Washington State. Spring is a beautiful time of year to shoot the Palouse, with vibrant greens and wildflowers everywhere.”

What I like in particular is that it conveys a sense of the place. When photographing wildflowers, it’s easy to get distracted by the flowers themselves and lose the feeing of the broader location. This photograph has both and it all comes together with the beautiful sunset.

I’ll be selecting a Photo Of The Day as often as I can. The photographs will be selected from the various OP galleries including Assignments, Your Favorite Places and the contest galleries.
