Photo Of The Day-Timelapse!
American West by Chuck Haney
Sit back and watch this timelapse unfold. Chuck Haney’s American West video was submitted to the Timelapse Assignment. The non-narrative visual vignettes give us a different way of seeing the landscape. Haney’s American West timelapse mixes still frames in with the motion and in one interesting juxtaposition, you see a nigh time lapse with the Milky Way in motion, then you see a still frame with the stars blurred due to the long exposure. It’s getting two different ways of photographically recording the same event.
For a couple other incredible timelapse videos, check out Shawn Reeder’s Yosemite Range Of Light and Tom Lowe’s recently unveiled Timescapes. Lowe’s Timescapes is the most impressive and inspiring project of it’s kind I’ve ever seen. It’s not strictly a timelapse project, but a time-bending project with scenes from some of the most iconic locations in the US. Take a look. It’s incredible.
Also, the Timelapse Assignment doesn’t have an expiration date so you can submit your own timelapse projects at any time.
