Rafael Rojas, new OP blogger
Hello to all OP blog readers! I am really happy to announce that from now on I will be one of the Outdoor Photographer official bloggers. Let me introduce myself. My name is Rafael Rojas, and I am a full time professional fine art photographer living in Switzerland. Formerly a geotechnical engineer and university lecturer, I decided one day to pursue my dream and become a professional photographer. Nowadays, I share my time between photographing, writing and also teaching photography during our workshops in Switzerland and Photo-trips to some of the most amazing places throughout the world. I am also director and co-founder of www.WhyTake.net – The Global Community of Nature Photographers, a free community creating some of the most inspiring imagery in the field of nature photography.
I conceive photography as a powerful tool of personal expression, and as a way of connecting and relating to the world we are lucky enough to live in. Simplicity, graphical character and mystery are the ingredients I always look for when taking my photographs. Although an early adopter of digital tools, I also make extensive use of film cameras. Digital or film, colour or black and white… these simply represent different means to attaining the same goal.
From now on, I will have the great pleasure to share with you my humble knowledge, passion, inspirations and thoughts about what it means to live life through the viewfinder of a camera… out there.
I will be really glad to see you around! 😉
