Sedona PhotoFest 2010

First annual festival aspires to capture imagination

Sedona Arts Center is pleased to announce the Sedona PhotoFest 2010: Southwest Photography Competition, Symposium and Exhibition. From July 18 through 25, this unparalleled festival will provide a unique opportunity for both professional and photography enthusiasts. With three days of symposium and five nights of great events, the festival is creative, interactive, and inspiring. Sedona PhotoFest aims to both nurture emerging photographers and stir the juices of the seasoned master.

Pulitzer-winning photographer Jack Dykinga will serve as “Master Photographer-in-Residence” for this hands-on photo safari experience held against beautiful backdrop of Sedona, Arizona. From lectures on capturing the endangered landscape to mastering the art of the digital print, there are ample opportunities to mingle with those who have mastered the art of snapping the shot that “paints 1000 words” and learning something new.

PhotoFest also includes the “Red Rock Open” Public Photography Competition now on through July 20th. Over $1,000 in prizes will be awarded during the PhotoFest Awards Gala on Friday, July 23rd.
