Today’s Photo Of The Day is Show And Tell by Wayne Zavotka. Location: Eastern Berkshires of Western Massachusetts.
“My day started reading ‘Take the Scenic Route’ by Chris Miele (July 2016),” said Zavotka. “Years ago, when I began shooting in earnest, my camera had always been on the front seat of my car; one never knew when a gift would present itself. But, over time, the expectation of serendipity faded. The DSLR came out for preplanned events and short term hikes. But, not today. I was inspired. I followed Chris’ directions for pre-sets and auto ISO. In the evening, my lab and I headed off to the lake trail we regularly hike. As we approached the trailhead, an oncoming car slowed. A young fox crossed the road and just sat inside the edge of the woods. I slowed and came to a stop. I put the car in reverse and slowly backed up. She was still there holding her catch of the day! Passenger window down; aperture, speed, auto focus and white balance pre-set, I sat there and held down the shutter. The fox proudly showed off her catch. Now, I’m proud to share mine. Thanks Chris Miele. Thank you Outdoor Photographer.”
