Las Vegas resident Denise Burridge was the lucky winner of a 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS Contemporary Lens by SIGMA in our recent Facebook giveaway! Burridge told us a little bit about herself and what photography project she’s currently working on:

“I’m a documentary photographer providing photographs that make people think, open their eyes and be able to make their own opinions. At this moment, I’m working on a personal project on the BLM Wild Horses and Burro Program. I have been documenting the 170+ wild horses associated with the September 2015 Wheeler Pass Herd Management Area emergency gather that occurred near the Cold Creek area of Southern Nevada. On September 14th of 2015, I was invited by the BLM – Utah PA to the first press media of the privately owned and operated off-range facility opened in June 2015. The BLM PA invited me again to come observe and document the Cold Creek wild horses on Dec 14th, 2015. The documentary story of where the horses were, skin-and-bone skeletons walking down the road to death to where they are now, getting healthier, gaining weight and finding families is a Nevada and national story people want and need to see! The gift of the Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS Contemporary Lens will be a huge blessing in documenting the wild horses on-range and off-range, as it’s important to respect their space but still be able to provide a sense of closeness.”
