Snow & Ice Scenes Assignment Winner Waldemar Matusik
“Some Kind Of Heaven” by Waldemar Matusik
Congratulations to Waldemar Matusik of Bathgate, West Lothian, Scotland, for winning the Snow & Ice Scenes Assignment!
“I’m pretty new, I just started my journey with photography not long ago,” he explained. “Sometimes we travel for miles to take nice pictures, but I didn’t even realize that we have great spots just around us. This was exactly my situation. On a Saturday morning in January, my son and I decided to go out and play in the backyard in the first snow we received this winter. Of course, as usual, I took my camera with me and took a couple shots of hills with trees covered with fresh snow and a nice misty background. I named my picture “Some Kind Of Heaven”—a simple, peaceful, beautiful place—and it’s actually what my picture presents.”
Equipment & Settings: Nikon D7100, Sigma 10-20mm ƒ/4-5.6 EX DC HSM Lens, 10mm, 1/25 sec., f/8, ISO 100.
