"It's tempting to leave a scene at sunset to avoid a hike out in the dark, but I stayed around along Second Beach in Olympic National Park for about 45 minutes to see what light might develop," explains Lichtman. "The soothing tones at twilight in such a dramatic setting of sea stacks was something I had wanted to see for many years. A receding tide produced lots of wet, reflective, sand and reflecting pools surrounding boulders not visible earlier in the evening."
