Foggy Morning in the Yosemite Valley
Photographer: Michael Blachly
Description: Yosemite National Park and the Yosemite Valley, surrounded by high granite summits such as Half Dome and El Capitan and densely forested with pines … it is truly one of the most amazing natural landscapes in the United States. As part of a Gary Hart Photo Workshop, I awoke that morning to capture the sunrise across the valley and was given phenomenal conditions as a deep fog snaked through the valley floor and the pop of colors in the early morning sky. Taken at the Tunnel View Overlook, I used my Canon EOS 70D camera with a Canon 17-40 mm lens set at 33 mm, with an exposure of 1/60 sec, f/11 and ISO 100. A Feisol Tripod and RRS BH-40 Ballhead were used to secure the camera.
