Photo Of The Day By Tim Williams
Today’s Photo Of The Day is “Way South For Winter” by Tim Williams. Location: The Outer Banks, North Carolina.
“A duo of quite unexpected visitors made their way to the NC Outer Banks during the winter of 2013-2014,” says Williams. “Much to the delight of southern bird enthusiasts, but confounding the experts, here’s one of TWO snowy owls who took up residence on Ocracoke Island for that winter period. The dune and beach environment made for some nice photo settings, and I liked this one among the grasses, with flower-shaped leaves in the brush that really provided a great accent in the b/w conversion.”
Equipment: Nikon D7000, Nikon 300mm ƒ/4 with 1.4X TC
Photo of the Day is chosen from various OP galleries, including Assignments, Galleries and the OP Contests. Assignments have weekly winners that are featured on the OP website homepage, Facebook and Twitter. To get your photos in the running, all you have to do is submit them.
