Wildlife Photographer of the Year Announced
The winners of the 2011 Veolia Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition have been announced in London, and this year there was nearly a sweep by Spanish-born photographer Daniel Beltrá. Daniel took home two awards, as Wildlife Photographer of the Year and Wildlife Photojournalist of the year, both in recognition of his documentation of the Gulf Oil Spill.

I look forward to the announcement of these awards every year with great anticipation since it represents some of the most creative work being done photographers all over the world. And yes, I submitted some work this year as well, and no – I didn’t win a thing. So it goes…
