Congratulations to Judy Kubes who won the Your Local Wilderness Assignment!
“I moved to Washington State three years ago and after seeing the wildflowers on Mt Rainier my first summer here I was forever in love. The variety of colors and the scents are simply intoxicating! This summer, I hiked with my husband one or two times a week and kept a close eye on the flowers. I found the most stunning display this year to be at Tipsoo Lake. The flowers bloomed so early this year that many others missed them altogether. Fortunately for me, I live so close to “The Mountain” that I was able to keep checking the progress of the blooms. The day I took this photo I arrived early and knew exactly where I was going to shoot from since I had been there so many times. The sunset was glorious and all the right ingredients came together to create one of my favorite shots!”
