The designers at Carl Zeiss had an interest in creating lenses that achieved both a sleek aesthetic standard as well as a technically precise tool. The design team started with the optics and spent extra time perfecting an electronic autofocus system. The outer barrel of the lenses are primarily made of metal for durability, while the internal lens is a metal-plastic hybrid to maintain a light weight that matches the camera bodies. Each lens also features the Zeiss T* anti-reflective multicoating.
The 2.8/12 lens is available for $1250 and the 1.8/32 lens is selling for $900. More information about the lenses can be found at www.lenses.zeiss.com.
