The Continental Divide of the Rocky Mountains.
Never have I been touched by nature as I was during the experience of this inversion over the Rocky Mountains. My wife and I were returning from photographing moose on the west side of Rocky Mountain National Park. As we approached the summit we were blanketed with clouds all around us. We knew that there were steep mountain cliffs just feet away, but couldn't see them. As we reached the summit, just as the sun set to the west of us, we came out of the clouds and saw the most beautiful images all around us. The saturated tundra ponds were glowing with light from the alpenglow, new born elks calves were running, playing and eating the green tundra grasses. Bull elk in their beautiful racks of velvet were dining on the tundra grasses, with beautiful pink and purple tones of light behind them. I thought to myself... "This must be Heaven".
