From Kalispell head toward Columbia Falls, Montana. In Cloumbia Falls you are just a few miles from one of the entrances to Glacier National Park. We took the Highline Trail (trail head is at Logan's Pass) to the chalet approximately 8 miles. When we left the chalet we took the Swift Current Pass Trail.
Nature abounds everywhere at Glacier. Wildlife, scenic views, flowers, and so much more. Have to get into the backcountry and off the highway.
Glacier National Park, what can you say! Amazing! We were there at the end of Aug. Due to record snow fall the winter before and the trails just getting opened in mid July the wild flowers were still amazing! Up in the high country the mountains were covered with a carpet of flowers. We did over 50 miles in a few days hiking and packing. We packed to the Granite Park Chalet and stayed a couple nights and did some day hikes from there. Even got to see the mule train bring the supplies up to the chalet. From the front porch of the chalet you get to drink in the beauty of "Heaven's Peak", the snow capped peak in the photograph. Truly a piece of heaven on earth.
