Notes

This place is not only a great place to shoot but it is also a quest...You need to secure a permit months in advance to the BLM web site (https://www.blm.gov/az/paria/checklist.cfm) or the day before in person at BLM Paria Ranger Station (between mile post 20 and 21 on HWY 89). Only 20 people are allowed in the area per day (the place is pretty small, smaller than a basketball field) and less then 30% of them find this place! Once you park you car at Wire pass, you would have to follow a non-exisiting path to get there: 2 hours walking in the wilderness to reach your treasure. Landmark here are called "teepees", "Top Rock" and a Juniper Tree to find the entrance! While there you can enjoy thousand of photo opps from the widest angle to embrace the complete place to close-up on texture (even wide angle close up that looks like Saturn rings)...It is a photo paradise. No need to rush to get there, the light enter this place 2~3 hours after sunrise, so enjoy the trek! If you continue to explore your way you even can find a place that looks familiar: the hamburger rock (it will remind you that it's time for lunch!)...After a day scouting the area do not forget your flashlight to find your car in the dark as you would enjoy the sunset on the second wave: less know and as subtil as the well-know "icon"
