From the city of Georgetown take Highway 29 west about 3 miles to D.B Wood Road. Take a right and Drive 3 miles. The entrance to Cedar Breaks park is on the left. There is trailhead parking inside this park.
The Goodwater Trail is 26 miles long and circles Lake Georgetown. The lake and trail lie in Williamson County, Texas in the Hill Country Region. I was on a 6 day backpacking trip when I found this scene one evening. I saw this boulder from across a cove where I was camped and hiked around the shoreline to reach it. The texture of the stone surprised me when I got there. A bit of nice late light helped to make this a memorable scene for me.
