From Port Aransas take Texas Highway 361 south about 10 miles to the park. The entrance is on the left.
Sunrises over the gulf are a favorite. Head over to the bay side of the Island for sunsets over Corpus Christi Bay or find your own unique view among the marsh. I stayed on the beach for 2 weeks at this park & had as much solitude as one could hope for. Every afternoon I made the trek over to the bay to search for opportunities to shoot the sunset in the marshes. One evening I found these pools of water at the edge of the more thickly vegetated areas. This shot remains one of my favorites from my stay at the park.
Mustang Island State Park is located near the city of Corpus Christi on 3700 acres of barrier island. The park provides plenty of beachfront primitive camping as well as a small campground with rv sites. Corpus Christi Bay may also be accessed from the Fish Pass area.
