Serra Cross is a cultural and historical landmark named after Father JunÃpero Serra who founded the Mission San Buenaventura in 1782. It is lovely, often uncrowded, vantage point over the entire city. During the autumn, winter and spring months, the Channel Islands are visible from the hilltop. This image was shot in the summer, when the marine layer sits heavy over Venture, obscuring the Channel Islands.
This panorama was shot from the historical Serra Cross monument in Grant Park, which sits on the hilltops of Ventura. Seven images were stitched together to create the panorama.
