Sunsets in the desert can be beautiful, and this day we experienced one. This is liftoff of a rocket that six of us built to compete in the Carmack Prize. We won the prize the day prior so we decided to launch it again to go even higher than the 104,000 feet the day before. Preparing the rocket took longer than anticipated so had to launch at sunset, which resulted in a georgeous liftoff. We only had 5 minutes to spare before the FAA permit expired!
