After several days of flat light and hazy views, I was about to give up on getting anything when I decided to go to Grandview Point. The sky to the east had been getting some amazing pink light in previous sunsets but it was over the plateau, not the canyon. Grandview faced east so I took a chance. The light was flat until just after the sun went down, then it exploded in the most amazing pink and orange sunset I have ever seen. Several times I stopped shooting and just marveled at what was around me. This was taken after the light faded but the pink colors lingered for about 20 minutes. I started to pack up my gear but realized this light is why I upgraded to a full frame camera, so I shot a few 15-20 second exposures.
