This image of the Fire Wave at Valley of State Park in Nevada was taken just a few weeks ago on my Canon EOS Rebel t4i with the EF-S18-135MM f/3.5 lens. I used an 18mm focal length at 1/160 and f/4.0. I wished that I had time to set up my tripod for a proper shot, however, I was lucky to even have arrived at the location with enough light to shoot thanks to a series of unfortunate events involving my family who was traveling with me. As it was, I had to compose the shot in my mind quickly and go for it. The splendor of sunlight setting on my backdrop faded quickly and the moment was gone. It was worth the effort to make it there though and slide into the sunset!
