Many of us are fond of driving through the Yosemite Valley floor in search of new and exciting areas to stop and explore. I couldn't resist a predawn hike with my my photography gear along the Merced River on this very chilly morning last November. I was happily and peacefully surprised by this refection of Cathedral Rocks in the Merced River after my first 6 second exposure. This final image consists of 3 different exposures including a 3, 6, and 10 seconds processed in HDR Photomatix. I then used Lightroom 5.5 to process it into Black and White focusing on the different tonal ranges. I brightened the sky and water ever so slightly. I was especially moved by the mid-tones within the trees at the bottom of Cathedral Rocks and the detailed blades of grass in the foreground.
