This Red-tailed hawk perched on a branch in Yellowstone's northern tier caught my attention. Early one morning, I patiently waited for close to an hour as he flew to several different trees scouring the earth for rodent life. The lighting was perfect with some overcast skies, which allowed for strong color and detail to be captured. The hawk finally landed on a tree placed nearly perfect in between two alpine firs that created some amazing composition. The trees slightly lit behind the hawk remind me of wings and work nicely with the bird in the foreground.
