I only spent one night in Banff and I wasn't familiar with this famous location. I headed out before sunset to find a location to shoot. I saw what I later found out to be Mt. Rundle and decided I wanted to find a place to shoot it from. I drove around clumsily trying to find a good angle and somehow ended up at Vermilion Lakes. I shot many great photos of Rundle and Sulphur Mountain but theres something I like about this angle as well, just to the right of those icons. I still find it amusing that I had no idea how popular this spot is in the world of landscape photography but I ended up here. Now I can't seem to go a day without seeing a shot of Mt. Rundle.
