Four Seasons

Skagway, Alaska to Carcross, Yukon) of the original 110 mile line.
I went on a cruise to Alaska in Sep. 2012 and joined an excursion in Skagway, the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad. The White Pass and Yukon Route narrow-gauge railroad was built 1898-1900. 1) The scenery was spectacular even in late September. Trees were beginning to turn and the distant mountains showed signs of first snow. 2) The story of the pass and the railroad was astonishing. It is a profound story of determination and endurance against the odds. All for gold. I was in the 2nd to last cart. I saw this spectacular scene when I suddenly turn my face to the mountain side, I only have two seconds to take this shot because the train was moving away. It was a fun and memorable trip.
