This was taken along the Mendocina Coastline near the town of Point Arena. The forecast was for clear skies so I decided to attempt some shots by the light of the quarter moon from this location I had previously scouted. As I was hiking out to this spot some fog started rolling through the area. I decided to keep going, even though I feared I wouldn't have enough light for the shot I wanted. I eventually reached this location and set up my tripod and camera. I used my flashlight to help me manually focus on the rocks and attempted both some portrait and landscape compositions. This ended up as my favorite - the fog in the air added some nice mystery to the sky.
