Highway 69 to Crabb River
Its funny, but you never know when a great photo opportunity is going to arise. This photo of a Giant Swallowtail butterfly was taken in my backyard, in South Texas, while I took pictures of a fence that was damaged by hurricane Harvey. Luckily, I decided to use my Nikon D5300 to take the damage pictures, instead of my smart phone, because this little guy showed up to feed on some Lantana flowers. I was able to use the macro setting on the Tamron 70-300mm lens to catch fine details while the butterfly posed for me.
