On the most northerly border between the counties of Friesland and Groningen a tranquil estuary exists serving as a natural reserve for many migration birds. A modest sailing school lays at the edge of a campground where you can venture out in canoes or sailboats. The Lauwersmeer (lauwerslake) is sheltered well from the wadden-sea as it is hidden behind sluis gates, hence it's quite waters.
During a short canoe-trip I took a few shots from only an inch above the water's surface towards the south with my Canon IXUS 510HS in extra vivid mode. The tranquil conditions made the lake's surface like a slowly undulating mirror. There's something about the simple color-arrangement that captured my attention.
The shot has not been altered afterwards, not for horizontal alignment or saturation.
