Watching the sunset from Clingman's Dome is an exciting opportunity I relish whenever I get a chance to visit the Smoky Mountains. Capturing the contours and detail when photographing into the sun can be challenging. In this image I had the benefit of a cloud bank which for the most part blocked the sun and allowed me to get a clean image without sun flare. I love the warmth of the sun basking down on the mountains.
