Description
A Great Blue Heron finding that its prized catch came with a 'string' attached. The grass snake had tightly wrapped its tail around the herons right foot - and wouldn't let go. Dropping it and stabbing at it a time or two didn't help. So there it stood, the best it could, seemingly quite perplexed. This went on for some time with a crowd gathering to watch. Finally the heron was able to get the snakes head into its mouth or gullet which only seemed to make matters worse because of the short 'tether'. After 15 or 20 minutes of watching this 'poor' heron stumble about, I had to leave. So, I don't know the outcome. But it made for great entertainment.
