Go north on the Steese Highway to Chena Hot Springs Road, go east 32 miles entering the Chena River Recreation Area.
Taken a few miles from our home, a bull moose browses on the vegetation that grows on the bottom of a pond. Browsing in water gives the moose a break from the constant torment of mosquitoes that bite the moose. If you look closely at the moose's back side, you will see several mosquitoes there. Further down his rear legs, blood is evident from the constant biting of the mosquitoes. Most often, cow moose are seen in the ponds, it's a real treat to see a bull browsing.
