Drive north out of Fairbanks 500 miles to Prudhoe Bay. Gravel road, very remote, used by heavy trucks to haul freight to the oilfields of Alaska. Gas at the Yukon River, Coldfoot and in Deadhorse Alaska. Bring extra tires, food and warm clothing. Weather can change at a moments notice and it can snow during summer months. Access to the Arctic Ocean is only via tour bus when you reach Deadhorse. Wolves, grizzly bears, musk oxen, arctic and red fox, and caribou can be seen on the way up to Prudhoe Bay.
An Arctic Fox just hid an egg in the snow and watches as two ravens fly around in search of his quarry. Not sure where the fox found the egg in the middle of winter, but it did. After this photo was taken, the fox curled up and slept for a bit on top of his buried treasure. The ravens soon lost interest and flew away.
